The image of your table is how they see you. I will teach you how to cultivate and use your image in poker to help you exploit the plays that will be used against you.
Listen to this episode #478 as you follow along below:
Image of your table
Your table image is how your opponents see you. According to this view, it can alter the way they normally approach playing a hand against you.- If your image is that of a “calling station,” you are less likely to bluff after the flop.
- If their image is that of a "loose, aggressive donk", they may be less inclined to fold to your double barrels with your TPWK or second pair of hands.
The image develops naturally or through cultivation
Most players simply play their style of poker and their image develops naturally from this within a few rounds. There are 5 factors that work to develop your image naturally.1. The cards you are dealt
If you are dealt a series of cards within your open raising ranges and given the opportunity to repeatedly open raise, then you will come across as a relaxed and aggressive player who loves to open pots. If you run well and hit flop after flop with TP+ hands, you will find yourself c-betting frequently, creating an aggressive pre- and post-flop player image, and your opponents will expect bets from you every time you play. in a pot. To grow an image: Ignore your cards and play as dictated by the image you want to cultivate. If you want an essential image, press. If you want a weak/passive image, limp/match or just match a lot. For a LAG image, open the raise and 3bet a lot; Ignore your cards.2. The line you take and the cards you face
What you show other players has a direct impact on their view of you. If your stats look like a Nit at 10/7, but they see a hand where you 3bet preflop with A5 and then triple bluff the flush draw on the flop, this will tell them not to trust your statistics. If you are able to make this line (3bet and then triple-barrel) with a weak hand (A5 and broken flush draw), you should not rely on your 10/7 stats. To grow an image: Adopt aggressive or passive lines. The triple barrel looks incredibly aggressive, but the limp/calls and check-calls in the fairways are super passive. If you want to develop a TAG picture post-flop, you can bet on the flop, check on the turn, and fire on the river.3. The players at the table
Having several LAGs or Maniacs at your table can be profitable, but this can make your image that of a preflop Nit. His frequent open raises will close your opportunity to steal pots. If you decide to call, you'll probably do so with a small but flop-friendly range of pocket pairs, suited aces, suited broadways, and suited connectors. If the board is going well for you, you may be making a lot of post-flop calls and raises. You will look like a preflop Nit along with post-flop tightness. To grow an image: Use the types of players at your table and choose exploitative plays against them that also build a picture. If you have Nits on your left, you can open a raise at every opportunity to develop a TAG or LAG image, and they will let you get away with it due to their foldable nature.4. Your position at the table
Sometimes you will find that you have many weak and passive whales limping in front of you. If you are dealt a series of good hands, you will find yourself iso-raising frequently. This can make you look like a preflop maniac who loves to play limpers. And, because you limp/call with such weak hands, you may find yourself betting almost 100% of the time hoping they continue with their marginal pairs and weak draws. Your Maniac image will solidify in their mind as you continually hit them with post-flop bets. To grow an image: Yeah you have position On openers that fold frequently, you can take advantage of them and develop a LAG picture by 3betting frequently. You can also see a lot of flops in position when your opponents let you by opening big in LP or calling others' open raises when those not yet acting frequently fold. You can use this to allow yourself to see tons of flops in position, giving you good opportunities to make money.5. The format of the table
With fewer players at 6max tables, you will have more opportunities to open pots or call with CO and BTN positions. This will give you a relaxed and aggressive or passive image, depending on how you are entering pots based on the 4 factors mentioned above. At full ring tables, there are many starting positions that you will choose to play from in tighter ranges. Another thing to consider is that LAGs and TAGs gravitate towards 6max play because they want to include more hands in their sessions. Full ring sets tend to attract more nits and whales. To grow an image: Intentionally play opposite styles to your table type. 6max, play a little more passive. In the full ring, opt for a more aggressive and tight game.Opponents who exploit their image
There are two aspects to this: how they CAN exploit you and how they WILL exploit you.How CAN THEY EXPLOIT YOU?
Players CAN exploit you by attacking your frequencies:- If you open or fold too often, they can make profitable 3bets with any two cards.
- If you limp/call with wide ranges, they can also raise you with good hands that flop well and have a post-flop advantage over you.
- When you cbet too often, they can check-raise or raise your cbet on the flop with a good expectation that you will fold.
- If you are a post-flop fit-or-fold player, you will be placed in position (call your cbet) on any street with the plan to bet on the next street once you check.
But who will exploit you?
But what you need to keep in mind is who will exploit you. Do you think the inexperienced whale will notice that you only cbet with second pair or better, so he will know to fold all his worst pairs in your cbets? Not likely. Will the multi-table LAG log player realize that his check-raise cbet stat is high at 20% in 20 chances? Possibly not. The weakest players (Maniacs, nits and whales) will not know how to exploit your tendencies. They find it difficult to stray from their preferred style of play; acting on the cards they have and the board in front of them. But if they do play with your image, it would be moving away from your strengths. If your image is that of a Nit, they will know that you only play with the strongest hands and make post-flop bets with some type of value. So when you make a bet on the flop, they will fold quickly unless they hit a piece off the board or have a big draw. If you are a LAG that check-raises frequently, they will check-back frequently unless they have a hand they want to build the pot with. The players most likely to exploit their image are TAGs and LAGs who play only a few tables. These players have time to observe your actions and watch your matchups. They are able to interpret the player and adapt to the images on the table. Compared to multi-table TAGs and LAGs, you'll have less worry about them blowing up your table image. They play more or less robotically and use standard plays and their player type to make their decisions. While playing, pay attention to any players who may exploit your image.Respond to their exploitation games
How do you leverage your opponent's image-based feats against you? Completing these sentences will help you solve this:I am a (1) then they will exploit me (2) . I can take advantage of this (3) .(1) This is the image of your current table developed naturally or intentionally. (2) These are the strategies that someone “playing” can use against you. (3) This is the “shifting gears” strategy you employ that will turn your feat against you to win more chips. Example of nit:
I am a Nitthen they will exploit me fold all but your best hands and draws versus my cbets. I can take advantage of this cbet bluffing more frequently. The position and size of the larger bet will help convince them to fold frequently..Label example:
I am a LABELthen they will exploit me float every bet on the flop and bet as soon as you check the next street. I can take advantage of this making a double shot every time I throw the initial cbet on the flop. I can also use a smaller cbet size on the flop, 40%, and then increase it to 60% on the turn to convince them I'm serious.Delay example:
I am a DELAYthen they will exploit me call with TPWK or even a second pair of hands against my aggression. I can take advantage of this Only value bets with TP+ hands..
2 part challenge
Part 1: Perform a 10-Minute Image Check During your next 3 play sessions, do an “image check” on each table every 10 minutes. Ask yourself: "What is my image here?" Based on your image at each table, how can your opponents exploit you and how can you turn the tables? Part 2: Plan “change gear” tactics 문화상품권 현금화 Use these phrases to plan your plays against those who try to exploit your image. Consider your natural type of player or the images you frequently cultivate. Create different exploitation strategies to turn the tables on those who can exploit you. The more (2) and (3) you can think of, the more weapons you will have to defend yourself.I am a (1) then they will exploit me (2) . I can take advantage of this (3) .
